At My Art House Studio, we believe that expressing yourself through art and dance not only brings joy, but also instills a sense of community, and teaches valuable life skills; all of which are important during difficult times. It is our goal to empower young people to engage fearlessly in new things, and immerse themselves in the artistic creative process to awaken their true potential.
Dance Class Description:
Our dance and creative movement classes are designed to help strengthen a child's body awareness, coordination, and confidence all while boogieing! Dance at its core is a community event and our classes are no different. We end and begin each class in a circle to find belonging and connection. In between, we'll strengthen our imagination through exploratory games and develop our gross motor skills with dance inspired obstacle courses. Get ready to see some dance moves at home!
Art Class Description:
Our art programs are an open ended opportunity for students to better understand the world around them and develop their fine motor skills. Many of our projects will be abstract expressions using natural and unique tools and canvases. We can't wait to show you what we make!
Morgan is a Florida native living in Chicago, IL with a BA in Dance from Columbia College Chicago and is a graduate of The Second City Conservatory. She has over 14 years experience teaching a wide variety of performing, visual, and creative arts to artists toddler to adult. Morgan didn’t begin dancing until the age of 14 due to a lack of funds and art exposure. Dance allowed her to be a first-generation college graduate despite many monetary and economic barriers. Traditional dance studio classes were expensive and, at times, inaccessible. Morgan constantly worked multiple odd jobs, relied heavily on the kindness of mentors, and acknowledges that her privileges helped keep dance in her life. It is with these experiences that Morgan has now dedicated herself to providing accessible classes to young artists across the country. My Art House Studio is just the beginning of her advocacy for arts education.
