Infants (NESTERS)
Our infant (Nesters) program is all about providing that warm, unique cozy atmosphere, a place like home, full of new routines, learning and nurturing experiences, yet accommodating to each child (no two infants have the same routine). At every step of the way learning with these beautiful bundles of joy, understanding their personalities, likes and dislikes, appreciation of the senses, grasping new experiences, sensory activities, learning through play. We also embrace having open concepts, that are safe and inviting to the acquisition of new knowledge and exploration. We pride ourselves by exposing our children to as many positive experiences that can aid in developing skills. IMIL (I Move I Learn) activities that incorporate body movement and gross motor, which are crucial at this stage.
We have a strong parent-teacher bond to provide quality care. Excellent communication is one of our main goals, as we understand the importance of that comfort families need when leaving your child in the caring hands.
We enjoy incorporating our parents to join us once a month for diverse activities. Always welcoming and having an open door for parents and family members. One of the reasons behind this is we want to learn from each other; we want to be a team that provides that much-needed support to the child. Our Nestors become our babies, and we are passionate about decision making, learning approaches, and day to daycare.
Toddlers (TWITTERS)
Our Twitters are exploring, taking those risks, learning to appreciate their likes, and communicating their dislikes. We bring together the first steps, waving and accomplishing new milestones. Studies show that toddlers pick up an understanding of language at this stage more than they can communicate. Our primary focus is to bombard them with the acquisition of as much knowledge as possible. We begin to make them independent and encourage them to follow a more structured routine. Recognition of self and surroundings as they become more mobile. They also start to identify familiar places and names, learning the language, vocabulary, and grasping the ability to form small phrases and some sentences.
Two’s (ROBINS)
Our Robins, start thinking in new ways, learning new skills, finding new techniques to solve problems, and showing their independence.
As they are very aware of their persona by this stage, we appreciate so much a child’s choices, understanding who they are and what they like and dislike. Independence in a child is essential, and we want to encourage that uniqueness in every way possible. They become so unique it is mind-blowing how our children grasp their personality with all of the exposure they receive. They also usually understand much of what you say to them. They’re even talking more. It may not be yet full sentences, but the expression will come in every way with facial language, smiles, body movement, and yes, a lot of No’s.
At Nurturing Niche, our smaller size concept for this specific age group is based on the prior experiences that this is the time when a child needs its space, and an overwhelming environment can be overstimulating. With a max of 7 students per room, it gives space for that one on one, for that development of identity within a group setting.
These are also some of the developmental milestones that are achieved during this age.
Enjoy more complicated pretend play, like acting that a box is a spaceship or assigning people characters when playing
Remember and talk about things that happened in the past, using phrases like “the other day” or “a long time ago.”
Do three- to four-piece puzzles
Group toys by type, size, or color
Recite favorite books and nursery rhymes with you
May follow two-step directions, such as “take off your coat and hang it up.”
Preschoolers (BLUE JAYS)
We are finally BLUE JAYS. As parents and family members, you may have already noticed that a lot is going on, a lot of questions, suggestions, opinions, and tons of personality from our preschoolers.
The main intention of our program is to prep our preschoolers social emotionally, as we know, this is the biggest challenge. We believe in the encouragement of many other areas. Still, our focus is to understand and accept who they are, making it a parting point for the rest of this journey.
Some of the milestones we will accomplish during this stage are the following, children should be able to ride a tricycle, use safety scissors, help to dress and undress themselves, play with other children in teams and create meaningful friendships, recall part of a story, pretend play, understand guidance, rules, follow routines and establish self-awareness of being part of group.
